COMPARISON

    LetMeCheck vs Codacy

Codacy is a code quality and security platform that connects to your Git host and tracks quality across a team. LetMeCheck is a security check that starts from a web address and speaks plain English. Pick by whether you manage code quality across a team, or just want to know if an AI-built app is safe.

    THE VERDICT IN 3 LINES
    • LetMeCheck is best for: people who built an app with an AI tool and want a plain-English security answer from a URL, with a fix prompt for each issue.
    • Codacy is best for: engineering teams who want code quality, security and AI coding standards tracked in one place, across many repositories.

    What Codacy is

Codacy is a code quality and security platform. It connects to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket and reports on code quality (duplication, complexity, test coverage), static analysis, dependency vulnerabilities, secrets, infrastructure-as-code and container problems.

It also has features for AI-assisted coding: Codacy describes Guardrails for AI coding agents and standards that apply to AI-written code. Plans run from a free Developer plan to a Team plan priced per developer and a custom Business plan.

It is aimed at engineering teams who want to measure and enforce standards across many repositories.

    What LetMeCheck is

LetMeCheck checks the security of apps that AI tools built. You paste a website address and get a result in about a minute. It is free, needs no sign-up, and changes nothing on your site.

The full check connects to GitHub, read-only, on the repositories you pick. It looks for secret keys saved in code (including ones deleted since but still in the history), who can read and change each database table, packages with known holes and pages that skip the login check.

Each issue is rated and comes with a fix prompt for your AI tool. LetMeCheck helps you find and fix problems. It does not promise an app is secure.

    Key differences

Quality tracking versus a safety check

Codacy is as much about code quality as security. It tracks duplication, complexity and coverage, and helps a team keep standards over time.

LetMeCheck is a security check. It asks one question: is this AI-built app safe to put in front of customers?

    A team platform or a solo-friendly tool

Codacy is priced and designed for teams. Its Team plan is per developer, and a seat is any Git contributor who commits.

LetMeCheck works for one person. Its quick check needs only a URL, and its plans are counted in apps, not in contributors.

    What each one looks at

Codacy covers a broad list: quality, static analysis, dependencies, secrets, infrastructure-as-code and containers, with DAST listed under its Business plan.

LetMeCheck starts from the live site and, with GitHub connected, looks at database rules, secret keys, risky packages and login checks. We did not find a database access rule check on the Codacy pages we read (as of November 2026), so ask Codacy if you need that.

    Working with AI coding tools

Codacy has Guardrails for AI coding agents and editor extensions, including for Cursor, so the checks can run while an agent writes code.

LetMeCheck works after the fact. It checks the live site and the repository, then gives you fix prompts for Lovable, Bolt, Replit, Cursor or Claude Code. Then you check again.

    How the pricing works

Codacy’s Developer plan is free forever, open-source projects are free, and Team starts from $18 per developer a month billed yearly, as of November 2026.

LetMeCheck’s quick check is free and unlimited. Paid plans add full GitHub checks for more apps. See pricing.

Where Codacy is the better choice

    • You have an engineering team and want code quality tracked alongside security.
    • You want one dashboard across many repositories.
    • You want checks inside your editor and for AI coding agents.
    • You need scanners beyond security, such as duplication and complexity.
    • You maintain an open-source project and want Codacy’s free plan for it.

Where LetMeCheck is the better choice

    • You are not a developer and want plain-English results.
    • You want an answer from a URL, with no sign-up and no Git setup.
    • You want fix prompts written for your AI tool.
    • Your biggest worry is exposed keys, open database tables or pages without a login check.
    • You may want a vetted developer to fix what is found, with a re-check afterwards.

    Can you use both?

Yes. Codacy can track quality across the team’s repositories, while the LetMeCheck quick check gives a founder a security answer about the live site.

Neither blocks the other, and if both flag the same issue, fix that first.

    Which should you pick?

    CHOOSE CODACY IF...
    • You manage code quality across a team.
    • You want editor and AI agent integrations.
    • You want a dashboard across repositories.
    • You are happy to connect your Git host.
    CHOOSE LETMECHECK IF...
    • You built with an AI tool and work alone or in a small group.
    • You want to start from a URL.
    • You want plain English and fix prompts.
    • You want to add a developer if needed.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is Codacy free?

It has a Developer plan that is free forever, and open-source projects are free, as of November 2026. Team starts from $18 per developer a month billed yearly. LetMeCheck’s quick check is free and unlimited, and its Free plan includes a full report for 1 app.

    Is LetMeCheck a Codacy alternative?

For people who built an app with an AI tool and want a plain-English security check, yes. For engineering teams who need code quality tracking across repositories, Codacy is built for that and LetMeCheck is not a replacement.

Does Codacy check a live website from a URL?

Codacy lists DAST under its Business plan, which tests running apps. For most plans, its pages describe connecting your Git host. LetMeCheck’s quick check needs only your website address and no sign-up.

Do I need to be a developer to use Codacy?

It helps. Codacy connects to your Git host and is built around pull requests and editors. LetMeCheck is written for people who are not developers.

Does LetMeCheck check database access rules?

Yes, in the full check. It looks at who can read and change each database table, because open database rules can leave customer data exposed. We did not find that check on the Codacy pages we read.

Can I use Codacy and LetMeCheck together?

Yes. Codacy tracks quality for the team, and LetMeCheck checks what a stranger can see and the problems common in AI-built apps.

Run the quick check on your live site in about a minute, with no sign-up. Connect GitHub (read-only) when you want the full check.
